This beautiful wedding shower happened back in May but I've had to patiently hold off on sharing while I was waiting to hear back from the Wedluxe Team on my first ever submission to their blog. Shortly after my submission, we received some amazing news and the shower was just featured on their various channels today. You can see their stunning post here and for a full recap continue below.
Inspiration:
A bridal shower combining the bride to be's love of flowers, gold detail and tea captured through intricate china details from days gone by. The theme of the amazingly sweet & kind Farah's Bridal Shower was Spring. She wanted something colorful yet soft, sweet & ultra detailed for her friends & family to enjoy. Before the shower we wanted to take advantage of the stunning in-bloom grounds for a mini photo session with her soon-to-be-husband Fadi. It was important to her that I captured both their love as well as the details & little moments of the entire evening.
“My vision in capturing this event was to highlight the colourful & sweet love that Farah & Fadi share along with the details of her party which are consistent with their personality. They are such awesome people & the decor so beautiful, I was simply trying to get out of the way & do it all justice”
Pre-Shower Mini Session:
Farah & Fadi are some of the sweetest, kindest people I've had the honour of photographing. Right from our initial meeting at their holiday themed engagement shoot, we've hit it off. Fadi is practicing dentistry in BC and Farah just graduated school in Hamilton. Following their wedding this past week, she'll be moving west to live with him in Vancouver. The mini session throughout Ancaster Mill's grounds beforehand featuring spring blooms & soft overcast light. I wanted to use the flowers both in and out of focus to frame them & capture their love for each other in a colourful & beautiful way.
The Details:
The decadent & incredibly elaborate sweet sable literally stopped me in mid stride. It was built on & around an antique dresser & the amount of hand painted details on the cake, the sugar flowers, french macaroon tower, custom "F" cookies etc were incredible. The photos below showcase Rita from Simply Sienna - Style Defined incredible work. Please pay attention to the details of the sweet table atop a vintage French provincial style dresser which were bolder in colour to offset the neutral florals and provided the perfect sweet focal point in front of the stone brick fireplace with luscious green garland. Hand painted cake, excellent food by Ancaster Mill, scratch & win game for guests, mini shoot beforehand with same theme as party etc.
“When I met Farah to discuss design of her shower her love for flowers, nature and old world detail immediately shone through. I knew the design would have to combine a simple natural elegance yet still incorporate a hit of glamour and formality ensuring every guest felt special. The Ancaster mill was the perfect setting with its rustic interior , beautiful windows providing endless natural light and stunning fireplaces the perfect backdrop for a intricately designed sweet display.
I created tablescapes involving beautiful florals that not only looked delicate but filled the space with a beautiful aroma. Each guest place setting included a keepsake box and vintage teacups from our personal collection. Guests enjoyed the beautiful meal, delicate desserts, photo opportunities at the dressing room inspired station & danced the evening away.”
Each place setting with rose & card saying: "All things grow with love"
Each guests place setting was adorned by a individual mirrored keepsake box with a blown open rose and soft blush napkin. Gold baroque cutlery and vintage tea cups in soft shades of pink were the tabletop jewellery for this elegant affair.
